Petition for Cyprus...

Another petition... this one regarding the Cyprus Issue. I did my college thesis on the US Governments involvement (or lack thereof) in the Cyprus issue. If Cyprus only had oil, maybe it would not still (32 years later) be half under Turkish control. A control that the UN and many, many nations around the world condemns but DO NOTHING ABOUT!
Thanks,
christina (I was not a politics major for nothing:)

The Global Campaign for the Return of Varosha/Famagusta/Cyprus, to its Lawful Inhabitants is underway here.
Sign the petition and forward the campaign to everyone you know!

Please also sign the petitions to Tony Blair on the illegal Turkish occupation of Cyprus if you have not done so already and are a UK national

I have a friend who married a Cypriot and lives there now, it is a concern that is dear to my heart.

Lord have Mercy!

With such a simplistic and factually sparse approach i am surprised you graduated at all - To fill in the gaps a little, the Greek Cypriots have had a dozen chances to sort out the problem - the latest being the Annan plan which they helped write then turned down once they had cheated their way into the EU.
The Cyprus problem as it is so often called started with persecution of the Turkish Cypriots decades before the Turkish intervention, itself caused by a Greek Military coup that overthrew the Government, whereupon Makarios asked for assistance from Turkey and the UK but only got it from Turkey.
Petition away, it will do no good until Papadopolous (current Cyprus president, ex EOKA terrorist and co author of a plan to exterminate the Turkish Cypriots back in the 60s) decides he actually wants a solution - which is not at all in his interest since he (and all Greek Cypriot politicians) relies on "the problem" as an excuse for everything the Cypriot Government do wrong.

Anonymous, what a funny name, something like anarchist. Cover your face to protest who knows what.
You are 200% wrong. I hope nobody will respond to your comments further. You dont even have the"guts" to show your face.

What name you use is irrelevant - unless you give your full name address zip code and social security number wth a picture and copy of your driving license, Susan or Mimi is the same as Fred or Anonymous - it doesn't make the facts any different - can't be 200% wrong when all the facts are 100% right and on record.

The so-called anonymous, is nothing but a comment originating from someone with turkish origins. Don't be surprised, one who know Cyprus history, would easily understand who's behind such a name.

With permission, I am posting your petition, with full credits, into my blog http://grhomeboy.wordpress.com where I maintain a dedicated page about Occupied Cyprus. Thanks for the opportunity to do so.

How sadly predictable, yet strangely flattering (to turks and Turkish Cypriots) - if you state facts you must be a Turk or Turkish Cypriot!
If you just spout an uninformed opinion, does that make you Greek?

Wow, I've hit a few nerves, I guess.
grhomeboy, please do put this on your blog. Spread the word.

That's all I'm going to comment on.

Everyone, Have a blessed Evangelismos! And happy name day to my nouno:)
